At Second Chance Tucson (SCT), our mission of supporting individuals transitioning from incarceration back into community life thrives because of the dedication of people like you. While financial support is always appreciated, your time, talent, and passion can make just as much impact. Here are some meaningful ways you can get involved:

Volunteers Needed – Help Us Help Others!

We’re growing—and we need passionate, dedicated people to join us! SCT has four vibrant subcommittees working hard to create real change:

  • Community Forum Planning This team organizes both in-person and virtual events to raise awareness about reentry challenges and celebrate success stories.

  • ✅ Next Event: April 9, 2025, at PCC Downtown Campus (Register Here!)

  • 🌟 Future Event: Winter 2026 Community Reentry Forum

  • 💡 We’re seeking help with event planning, outreach, and day-of coordination.

  • Employment Subcommittee – Focused on empowering justice-involved individuals through employment:

  • 📍 Organizes our Annual Job & Resource Fair (Next: August 7, 2025, at TCC)

  • 📘 Hosts Job Fair Orientation Sessions across Tucson

  •  Volunteer Activities Subcommittee – Organizing service events with justice-involved individuals. 

  • 🛠 Help plan, promote, and participate in meaningful volunteer projects.

  • 🎯 Work alongside others who are passionate about giving back.

  • 👏 Special shoutout to Deborah Carroll and Duane Udstuen for revitalizing our volunteer efforts. Come join this inspiring crew!

Use your experience & wisdom to give back:

  • Speakers Bureau – Our Speakers Bureau features individuals with lived incarceration experience who share their stories with community organizations, fostering empathy and understanding.

    • 📅 Recent and upcoming events include a presentation at Casas Adobe United Church of Christ and others into next winter.​

Have you or someone you know experienced incarceration and come out the other side with a story of growth, resilience, and transformation? Second Chance Tucson’s Speakers Bureau is a platform where your voice can make a real difference.

  • We’re seeking individuals with lived experience to speak at schools, community groups, faith-based organizations, and more—helping to break down stigma, educate the public, and offer hope to others still on their journey.

  • Your story matters. Your voice can shift perspectives. Your experience can help build a more compassionate, just community.

  • Speakers are supported with coaching, compensated for their time, and offered opportunities to make an impact both in the community and within correctional settings.
